Stop The Oil Guzzler

June 24, 2008

It is often said that for every problem there is a solution. Our nation is now faced with the problem of having a limited supply of oil. World demand for oil is growing and oil supplies are dwindling.  There is not enough oil being produced nor is there any possibility of production rising for at least ten years. Most products are dependent on the cost of oil and that cost will continue rising.  Many of us will not have the money to buy goods produced from oil and will have no choice but to suffer.  But there is another solution.

The U.S. Navy can station itself at the head of the Persian Gulf and the Straits of Malacca and block all oil shipments to China and India. That will guarantee America all the oil it needs. Not only will our nation have plenty of oil but it will also be affordable. Some think it will start a war but that is impossible, no nation will challenge our military might. The Chinese and Indians will just have to do the best they can on the little oil they have. It is better that they suffer than we do.

There is an international solution to the shortage of oil. There are billions of people that contribute no useful service and just use up precious resources. They are called oil guzzlers. This non productive oil guzzler has to be given useful work. There is no reason why productive members of society should allow them to deplete the oil that is desperately needed.

It will be up to our new president to identify our oil guzzlers and find productive work for them. The oil guzzlers could be hiding in the most unsuspecting places. Some are government workers that contribute nothing and only suck out our remaining oil resources with their undeserved salaries. There are many oil guzzlers who are non-workers; they use up our oil resources in the form of welfare payments and free health benefits. They should all be made useful by earning their right to use the oil needed for more deserving people.

Something has to be done fast if we are going to survive as a first world nation. The cost of living is quickly climbing along with higher oil prices and they will continue to do so as long as we do nothing about it. Some of my solutions might seem radical but they will shortly be needed in a world full of growing problems.

Oil Is Earths Holy Blood

June 23, 2008

Oil owners have been desperately pumping out as much oil from their wells as possible. They have been doing it for the last twenty years. Their owners are greedy and want to make as much money as possible. But the best they are able to do is to pump out 85 million barrels a day to an oil hungry world. That is not nearly enough; worldwide consumption today is 87 million barrels daily and is growing. Something has to change, and it will be the price of available oil supplies.  The nations that need the oil will have to pay over 300 dollars a barrel.

China and India have over two billion people who are exposed to television views of the west. They see how well other nations live and the products they use. Billions of them want autos and air conditioners plus lots of other goodies. They demand to have them and their governments have no choice but to give them what they want. It cost over 200 barrels of oil to produce one auto and the Chinese and Indian people want to own the largest and the best.

The demand for oil is growing quickly and there is no power on earth that can stop this tidal wave of desire. Even if new oil fields are discovered they will not be able to come on line for another ten years. Alternative energy ideas can never feed such large demands for energy. There is nothing that can replace oil. The world is in an awful mess.

It is often said that for every problem there is a solution. We are now faced with the problem of having a limited supply of oil. This solution requires pain and some of us have to painfully sacrifice their hopes so others can realize theirs. Those that make that sacrifice will give up the right to use what is left of the world’s oil and will suffer in poverty. The fortunate will enjoy the luxuries of technological societies powered by abundant oil. There is no other solution.

The Mid-East is sitting on more than half of the world’s oil reserves, and that oil is as precious as water in a dry desert. No responsible government leader will deprive their nation of full access to that oil. Armies are building up strength because they know that there will be a military battle. War is thought by many to be the only solution to an otherwise unsolvable problem. Oil has now taken the place of God in a world where billions of people want the best for themselves.

Oil Shortages In A Hungry World

June 18, 2008

Most people have refused to accept the magnitude of the oil crisis that is coming on like a gigantic tidal wave. They think the hybrid auto, Ethanol, solar power or wind energy will save them. But they all add up to very little savings in the face of a surging energy demand. The hopeful claim there is enough oil to meet this expanding demand, and that we have nothing to fear. Others say the demands for more energy will self destruct as prices rise. But the nature of that demand is so powerful that even higher energy costs cannot stop its tremendous force.

Oil wells are working at full capacity pumping out as much oil as possible. Every attempt at increasing production has resulted in only a small gain. No new oil fields have been discovered that are large enough to meet this growing demand for more oil. Now is the time for the world to accept that there will not be enough oil available to meet the demands of every nation. And even if they accept that dark reality the demand for more oil will not go away. The problem requires a solution.

Nations will pay any price to obtain the oil necessary to fuel their economy. China and India will not stop meeting the oil demands of their expanding economies only because the United States needs that same oil. Common sense says that there will be fierce competition between nations for a share of what is available. The possibility of military confrontation exists unless oil demands decrease.

World wide demand for oil is not decreasing despite higher prices and conservation. The economies of China and India are booming and will continue to do so even if oil reaches 300 dollars a barrel. They have billions of people with dreams of obtaining the luxuries of the western world. Those dreams will never end as long as there is a drop of oil available for their nation.

This situation is similar to the one where there are ten survivors on a lifeboat and only enough water to last one more day. Rather than them all dying they draw lots and the losers are thrown overboard. Is it the right time for the nations of the world to draw lots? If it is, I hope our nation is one of the winners.

The Best Man Might Not Win

June 16, 2008

I have been watching the videos of the Obama and McCain speeches, my instincts combined with judgment tells me that Sen. McCain is the better choice.

Sen. Obama reminds me of the liberal New York City politicians of forty years ago. They also were advocates for change. It was true that they helped the poor but it was at the expense of the middle class that were driven out of the city. I believe Obama is from the same mindset.

Sen. McCain is more realistic. He speaks about free and fair trade, not about a return to a non-productive manufacturing past. His faith in the American worker to compete in the new world order convinces me that he can help our country. He is for change but not at the expense of people who pay enough taxes.

The vast majority of voters blame the government for most of their problems. They want a government that will give them free health care and affordable housing. Many believe the wealthy should pay for those needs by higher taxation. That is why they will vote for the candidate that promises big changes in the way our government treats its people.

We all believe in change–everyone has a problem. Some believe our government is not giving us enough benefits and they need more help. Others believe the government is big enough and should only help people to help themselves.

The only thing that will change if a liberal candidate becomes our next president is that internal special interests will become more powerful. They will try to make us believe that an isolated America is better for us. McCain is more realistic and his changes will make America a more powerful player in international economics. But who ever wins we are sure to get changes.

Gamblers in Ireland are making Obama the two to one favorite to win the presidential election. I believe that Sen. Obama will become our next president. Voters want a change from present day politics and they think Obama will give them that change.

Living Better With Less Oil

June 15, 2008

Higher transportation costs are driving up the costs of food. Food prices will continue rising. Increasing fuel costs are making it costlier to carry food products to the  super market. There is no end in sight.

Supermarket food will soon be unaffordable to low wage workers. They will have no choice except to bicycle to small farms where  foods are much cheaper. They will bring back what ever is necessary to survive.

A shrinking economy due to high fuel costs will put millions of people out of work. After they deplete their unemployment benefits, they will need money to survive.  A financially broken government will not be able to support them. The only way that survival would be possible is by finding work on a small farm, there they would receive food and housing.

A small farm can prosper even if fuel costs are high. But it must have no expenses for farm machinery or oil based chemicals. Low labor costs will produce a harvest of crops that will be marketable at a profit. The small towns that surround the farm will reduce transportation costs to almost nothing. A horse drawn wagon is all a farmer needs for a local delivery.

The era of the large farm is coming to an end.

They survived only because of cheap fuel. Soon their tractors and the rest of their farm machinery will be idle.

The high costs of insecticides, weed killers and fertilizers will help drive them out of business. Their land will be parcelled off and sold to business people who want to invest in small farms.

Houses in the suburbs will become worthless. Their distance from urban jobs will make them too expensive to live in. The land surrounding the big cities will be turned into farmland. The highways will be crowded with horse drawn wagons transporting food to the shopping stalls scattered all over the city.

Life will not come to an end in the nation; it might just be a great beginning. Millions of small towns and farms will become the foundation of our economy. Local newspapers will return with relevant news to small communities. The parasitical cultures that now exist will be gone. Unemployment and homelessness will be a thing of the past.

All these events will come about naturally. The scarcity of oil is producing a new way of life.  It would be a waste of our mental and physical facilities to try to change our destiny. Future generations will look back and be glad the era of cheap energy finally came to an end.

We Need Cheap Gas Not Cheap Talk

June 14, 2008

The foundation of the universe is energy. Nothing is possible without its existence. In the beginning there was only pure energy–some call it God. We on earth basically depend on the Sun and oil as our chief source of energy. Without the Sun we would die. It was once  possible to survive without using oil, but it has now become the life force of civilization. Owners of the oil supplies are the most powerful people in the world, and that is why wars are now being fought over the rights to the oil fields in the Middle-East. The winners will get the big prize—enough cheap energy to keep their populations living in prosperity. The losers will suffer poverty, chaos and beg for mercy.

Every product you use is dependent on oil. The foods you eat comes from a farm that needs oil for its harvesters. The crops are nourished by oil based fertilizers and insecticides. It takes lots of oil to manufacture food packaging machinery and paper containers. Refrigerated trucks are needed to get food to the markets. Some have to travel over a thousand miles and use many tanks of diesel fuel in order to feed us. Oil is as important as our blood because we have lost the ability to live without it.

The oil pumps of the world are going full blast. They have what the world needs and they are feeding it to them as fast as possible. Billions are being invested in oil drilling but as much as they drill they can`t keep up with the demand. One of the reasons for this is the worlds population is growing to quickly. The other reason is that the amount of oil in the ground has reached its limit and increased production has become almost impossible. If that is true and the demand keeps increasing we will soon be fighting for every drop of oil.

The United States is the largest consumer of oil in the world and in order to guard our way of life we must protect our oil supplies. If you use your imagination, think what would happen if we had to pay unaffordable prices for gas. There would be chaos and famine. All responsible Americans should  do all that is possible to prevent that tragedy from happening. The best way to do that would be to pick a leader that would make sure we had affordable gas and plenty of it. We are now lucky to have the opportunity to pick a man with military experience and a fighters disposition. He will never let Americans beg for oil. I am speaking about John McCain. But if you are a dreamer like John Lennon and want to imagine a world full of peaceful and content people—vote for the other guy. But be ready to ride a bicycle looking for a job.

Diamonds And Oil

June 11, 2008

Diamonds may be a woman’s best friend but it is not a mans. The average engagement ring costs over one thousand dollars. Many women will break up a relationship if their lover could not afford the ring. This practice has been going on for over two hundred years since diamond deposits were discovered in South Africa. Diamonds are plentiful and they would cost less than two hundred dollars a carat if the price was not determined by a greedy diamond monopoly. But there is good news on the horizon. A Florida based company has discovered a way to manufacture a perfect diamond for only ten dollars a carat. They will be on the market within six months. They are called:Gemisis Stones.

The diamond industry is under threat of going bankrupt because the Gemisis Stone is undetectable from the real diamond. Soon even an unemployed lover will be able to afford an engagement ring.

I Need Lots Of Change

June 7, 2008

Change is what we need in America and in the world. There are so many things that need a change that it would take years to list them all. so I will try to list those that are most important to me and leave the rest for other writers.

There should be more and higher stimulus checks given out by the government. One for about five thousand would be greatly appreciated. Having more to spend would be a big change for me. The best way for me to spend the money would be by taking a cruise. The young divorcee that I admire from a distance would be happy to come along. She would make an exciting cabin partner.

My health care coverage is costing me five hundred dollars a month. If the government would pay the whole bill it would give me more to spend. A person shouldn’t be required to pay his own health coverage. Free health care is what I need. I wish the new president will make it available. That  would be a welcome change.

Half of my income goes on my rent. That is not fair. The rent costs of poor people should be paid for by the government.  I can`t afford a car because of my high rent payments. The payments on a new car are too high. If the government paid the rent on my apartment I could then buy a nice new car with the savings. I need a change in government. I hope a kind and liberal president will help me.

The streets are full of dope addict gangs fighting for territory. Bullets are flying through the air. This situation needs to be changed. If the government would decriminalize illegal drugs, the jails would be emptied of drug offenders and stop needless arrests. Finally there would be peace in the streets.

I enjoy sex and like it best when I am making love to a skilled woman. The best lovers are hookers, but they are unaffordable to a low income guy like myself. If the government would decriminalize prostitution the price would be lowered. That is another reason why things have to be changed.

There is a candidate that is now running for president that speaks of change. He will get my vote if he changes some of the ways the old government runs.I feel that he is understanding and compassionate. An offer of a five thousand dollar stimulus payment to people like myself will get my vote. I am in need of change.

New Hope For The Slow Learner

June 2, 2008

The American population is made up of over 40 million people that unfortunately have an IQ between 70 and 85, they are called slow learners, it is a term that is used for those with a low mental ability. Rarely do they have the skills to be successful in school or in general society. Most of them become school dropouts and later have major social problems. Due to today’s greater demand on mental efficiency this group is having an almost impossible challenge to overcome. If America is to maintain its image as being the most humane society we have to be able to make life more comfortable for those without normal mental abilities. Life skills coaching combined with easily accessed welfare payments at this moment seems to be the only way to deal with this problem. But that isn’t the solution because slow learners are still creating social problems and causing injuries to themselves and others.

Work on a small farm can be taught to any person that is willing to learn. It does not require more than an elementary education. The work is routine and even a slow learner could master it with little instruction. A farm worker does not need to depend on the government to survive. Housing and food is always available on a farm. Small farm work would be the perfect job for a person who has major social problems in an urban environment.

The creation of a few million small farms that were privately owned will give the slow learner a chance to become an independent and happy person. It would be a great humanitarian achievement. No longer would there be a need for government welfare checks for the confused and disfranchised. The prisons would be emptied, welfare mothers and illegal drug abusers would be given a chance to start a new and healthy life. With a great way of living the towns around the farms would have recreation and shopping areas that would be alive with workers on a well deserved break. There is no doubt that the quality of life in the whole nation would be greatly improved.

This dream can become a reality if the small farms would be given a chance to become profitable. At the present moment government handouts to the environmentally damaging giant farms have destroyed profit opportunities for the small farmer. Without those handouts and special trade advantages the Mega-Farms would be out of business. They would be quickly replaced by millions of small farms. Farm products will then be of a higher quality and the natural health of our environment would be restored. All this will happen as soon as more people realize the urgent need for returning the small farm to the nation.
